There was no mouse cursor I could move, and alt-tab'ing did not work either.<\/p>\n<p>dconf:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"literal-block\">\n[org\/mate\/desktop\/session\/required-components]\nwindowmanager='marco-no-composite'\n<\/pre>\n<p>\/var\/log\/syslog:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"literal-block\">\nSep 27 08:20:42 mogiedyne mate-session[1496]: WARNING: Unable to find provider 'marco-no-composite' of required component 'windowmanager'\nSep 27 08:20:42 mogiedyne mate-session[1496]: WARNING: Unable to find provider '' of required component 'dock'\n<\/pre>\n<p>Solution: Install mate-tweak, which had been removed earlier. mate-tweak provides the &quot;marco-no-composite&quot; window manager. Restart lightdm, and window borders will be there.
